The MRA is a non profit organization composed of 86 accredited units which have over 2,500 members. These local units:

  • Perform over 1250 Search and Rescue missions in a typical year,Providing 50,000 hours on missions, accumulating 45,000 hours training, andProvides over 6,000 hours of public education on climbing and mountain safety that reaches over 27,000 people.
  • MRA estimated that members and member-units spend over $9,000,000 a year on equipment and outdoor supplies.
